What is direct primary care?
Direct primary care (DPC) is a membership model where you pay your doctor’s practice a flat monthly or annual fee directly, instead of billing insurance per visit.
That usually means longer visits, more direct access to your doctor, and fewer surprise bills. Not every practice runs it the same way, though, so the map above sorts every listing into one of three models:

What is direct primary care (DPC)?
Direct primary care is a membership model for primary care. Instead of billing insurance per visit, you pay the practice a flat monthly or annual fee directly, which typically covers unhurried visits, more direct access to your doctor, and fewer surprise bills.
How is DPC different from concierge medicine?
The two overlap a lot and the terms are often used loosely. In general, concierge practices tend to still bill insurance on top of a membership fee, while most DPC practices skip insurance billing entirely and rely on the membership alone.

What's the difference between Pure DPC, Hybrid, and Onsite?
Pure DPC practices don't bill insurance at all. Hybrid practices combine a DPC membership with a traditional insurance-billed practice. Onsite clinics are employer- or union-sponsored and usually restricted to that employer's own employees.
