Business Associate Agreement — the HIPAA contract a covered entity signs with any vendor that handles PHI on its behalf. Tabflows’ BAA applies automatically the moment you sign in, so there is nothing to request or negotiate, and the full text is public.

Something a patient is due for that has not happened yet — a lab ordered but never drawn, an overdue follow-up, a refill nobody chased. Care gaps hide in the space between systems, which is why catching them is a panel-wide job rather than a chart-by-chart one.

Direct Primary Care — a model where patients, or their employer, pay the practice a flat monthly membership fee directly instead of the practice billing insurance per visit. DPC clinics are who Tabflows is built for, and every “DPC” on this site means exactly this.

Electronic Health Record — the system of record for charts and clinical documentation, such as Elation, Cerbo, Akute, Atlas.md or Athena. Tabflows is not an EHR and does not replace one; it works around whichever EHR a clinic already chose.

A suggested patient match that a person has confirmed. Tabflows proposes the match; a teammate checks the identifiers and clicks the chain icon, and the two profiles are hard-linked. The link then applies clinic-wide, so nobody else has to link that patient again.

The patient-matching feature: open a patient in one connected system and Tabflows surfaces the same patient in the others, so one human stops looking like five unrelated records. Match and Name Exchange are two names for the same feature — you will see both across the product and this site, and both mean this.

The patients a practice is responsible for — its whole membership roster, not one day’s schedule. Panel size is one of the two things that decide a Tabflows plan, alongside team size; a practice lands on whichever band is higher. Paid plans start at $200/month on an annual commitment.

A clinic’s shared knowledge base inside Tabflows: policies, pricing, services, SOPs, routing rules and the standard wording the team uses with patients. Sidekick draws on it, so answers and drafts reflect how this practice actually works rather than how a generic clinic might.

Everyone at the practice with access to Tabflows. There is no per-person fee — team size is one of the two bands that decide a plan, alongside patient panel, and a practice lands on whichever is higher. Free covers the whole team at no charge.

The Tabflows panel that opens beside whatever you are already working in, holding every connected system one click away. Side tab and sidebar are the same thing, used interchangeably. It is the entry point into Tabflows, not the whole product.

Tabflows’ AI assistant. Sidekick works on the patient in front of you — drafting a reply, triaging a message, pulling the chart together — and across the whole panel, chaining actions like care-gap sweeps, segment reports and follow-up.
