Common questions

What is concierge medicine?

Concierge medicine is primary care paid partly through a membership fee. In return, a practice usually keeps a smaller patient panel, so visits are longer, same-day or next-day appointments are common, and you can reach your doctor more directly. Most concierge practices still bill your insurance for visits on top of the membership.

How is concierge medicine different from direct primary care?

Both charge a membership. Direct primary care (DPC) practices usually skip insurance billing entirely and live on the membership alone, while concierge practices usually keep billing insurance alongside it. The terms overlap and practices use them loosely, so ask a practice how it bills before you join.

Which practices are on this list?

Every practice comes from the Tabflows DPC Finder, which is mapped by hand. This list keeps the practices classed as hybrid, meaning they pair a membership with insurance billing, plus any practice that calls itself concierge in its name. Practices whose website was found closed, no longer a clinic or now another business are left out. Billing changes over time, and some practices may have dropped insurance since they were classed, so ask a practice how it bills before you join.

Is this list complete and current?

No. No directory of concierge practices is ever complete. Addresses, phone numbers and models are as listed, so confirm the details, the fee and whether the practice is taking new patients with the practice itself before you sign up.

Does Tabflows get paid by these practices?

No. No practice pays to be listed or to rank higher. The list is sorted by state, then city, then name.

Run a membership practice yourself?

Tabflows helps membership practices cut the tab-switching between their EHR, messaging and lab portal, so nothing falls through the cracks between tools.
