Using Sidekick to work on patient profiles
On this page
Once a patient is connected, Sidekick can help with chart summaries, visit prep, lab review, medication review, file review, and follow-up planning.
How to Connect a Patient
Option 1: Connect a patient from the side tab
- Open the Tabflows side tab.
- Open Sidekick.
- Search for the patient.
- Select the correct patient.
- Start asking your question.
Option 2: Use the Sidekick button in the patient chart
- Open the patient in the connected system.
- Click the Sidekick button beside the patient’s name.
- Sidekick will open with that patient already in context.
- Ask your question.
Check the context before continuing
Confirm:
- The patient name matches the chart you intended to use.
- The expected connected systems appear beside the patient’s name in the patient search.
- The data in the connected systems is recent enough for the question.
Ask a patient-specific question
If the first answer is too broad, follow with: Focus only on the last six months or Show the source for each item.
Tips
- Make sure the correct patient is connected before asking chart-specific questions.
- Keep prompts short and direct.
- If needed, ask a follow-up question to narrow the result.
