How to ask Sidekick in Team Chat
On this page
Ask Sidekick in a channel
- Open Team Chat.
- Start a message and type @Sidekick.
- Add your question or request.
- Send the message.
Ask Sidekick about a Team Chat file
Mention @Sidekick and ask a specific question about the file you want it to use.
- Attach the file to the same @Sidekick message, or refer to a file that is still available in the current channel or thread context.
- Name the file and say what you want Sidekick to find, summarize, compare, or prepare.
- Sidekick cannot use a deleted, out-of-context, corrupted, or unreadable file.
- If the answer does not use the intended file, reattach that file and retry with a more explicit question.
Artifact links can render as cards. Open and review the returned Artifact before sharing it or acting on its contents.
When you ask from a new channel message, Tabflows opens the thread so you can follow Sidekick’s work and response. Everyone who can access the conversation can see the reply.
Work with Sidekick in a Team channel
Mention @Sidekick in a Team channel when the result should be visible to the channel.
- The person who asks sees Sidekick work live and handles any approval.
- Everyone else sees the same reply and cards, but approval controls are read-only and may show Waiting for [name].
- Keep the tab open until the active run reaches a result.
- Review the result and any linked Task, Artifact, or source before acting on it.
If a run is interrupted, return to the conversation, check whether a result appeared, and retry only when no usable result exists. Do not approve or rerun work on behalf of the original asker.
Continue in the same thread
Mention @Sidekick again when you want to ask a follow-up. Keeping related questions in one thread gives your team one place to review the conversation.
Create Tasks carefully
Tasks created by Sidekick from Team Chat are not automatically connected to a patient unless the @Sidekick message includes the patient’s chip (#). When the Task concerns a patient, include the patient’s name in the Task title.
Keep patient information focused
People with access to the conversation can read its messages. Include only the patient details your team needs for the request.
When the patient matters, add the patient with # so teammates can open the right record. The patient chip links a Task created by Sidekick only when it is in the @Sidekick message, so name the patient in the Task title and verify the saved Task
If Sidekick cannot reply
The person who asked Sidekick can select Retry. If @Sidekick does not appear, update Tabflows, reload the page, and try again. Contact Tabflows Support if it is still unavailable.
