Magic Buttons

Use a Magic Button beside your work, and review what it prepared before anything reaches a patient or the chart.

5 min4 min

Magic Buttons are one-click shortcuts that Tabflows places beside your work when it recognizes a job it can help with. Each carries the Tabflows mark, needs nothing installed, and appears only when its conditions are met, such as a linked patient.

Draft Assist writes a reply in a Spruce conversation, AI Patient Summary preps a visit from an Elation or Cerbo chart, and Referral Assist drafts a referral letter in Elation's referral pane. Which you see depends on your systems and what your clinic has turned on. Each one drafts or reads; you review, edit and send.

Topics

  1. Spot a Magic Button, or find a missing one Magic Buttons appear beside the work they act on and carry the Tabflows mark; hover the ⓘ to see why one appeared. There's nothing to install.
    1. If a button is missing, check that the patient is linked when the button needs one.
    2. Open Profile → Account → Sidekick and make sure Hide smart buttons is off.
    3. Update or refresh Tabflows and try again.
  2. Draft a patient reply in Spruce Draft Assist writes a reply in Spruce text and secure-message conversations. It never sends: you review, edit and send.
    1. Open a patient conversation in Spruce and click Generate (a draft may already be there).
    2. Review the draft in the right panel and click Insert.
    3. To revise it, hover over Enhance and add a direction such as "Make it warmer and shorter." Use Undo to go back.
    4. Edit the message and send it yourself.
  3. Prep a visit with AI Patient Summary On a linked patient chart in Cerbo or Elation, Click for AI Patient Summary returns a summary you can copy. It only reads; it never writes to the EMR.
    1. Open the patient's chart and make sure the patient is linked in Tabflows.
    2. Press Click for AI Patient Summary.
    3. Review the summary and copy what's useful into your note.
  4. Draft a referral letter in Elation In Elation's referral pane, Referral Assist drafts a suggested specialty and letter from the chart. It doesn't send, fax or submit anything.
    1. Open Elation's referral pane and press the REFERRAL ASSIST chip.
    2. Press Insert referral letter.
    3. Read and edit the letter, select the To contact yourself, and send it the way you always do.
  5. Turn a Spruce message into a Task In a linked Spruce conversation, the lightbulb suggests one follow-up Task. Save task creates it straight away, so review it first.
    1. Select the lightbulb beside the draft controls.
    2. Review the patient, description, assignee, due date, tag and urgency. If a Similar open task is shown, compare them first.
    3. Select Save task, or Edit details to change it.
  6. Make drafts sound like you Preferences are personal instructions for tone, length and sign-offs that Sidekick uses when it drafts patient replies. They don't add facts or clinic policy.
    1. Open Profile → Your preferences and click Add Preference.
    2. Add a short Title and a specific instruction, such as "End with one clear next step."
    3. Click Create, then generate a new draft to test it.

Do it in Tabflows

Use the Magic Button that matches your systems on real work today. On another EHR, pre-chart in Sidekick as in Module 4.

  1. In Elation or Cerbo, open a patient's chart. If the button stays inactive, link the patient first.
  2. Select Click for AI Patient Summary and read the summary Sidekick returns.
  3. Copy what you need into your visit prep. Nothing reaches the chart unless you paste it there.
  4. In Spruce, open a patient's text or secure-message conversation and select Insert on Draft Assist's reply (Generate first if none appears).
  5. Review the draft against the conversation and chart, edit it, and send it yourself. Draft Assist never sends for you.
