How to prepare for a visit with AI Patient Summary
On this page
Everything you need is already in the chart; the work is finding it before the patient sits down.
When does it appear
AI Patient Summary is available whenever you have a patient chart open in Cerbo or Elation — the only two places it appears. It stays disabled until the patient on screen is linked and loaded in Tabflows, so if it looks inactive, link the patient first.
See 👉 How do I link a patient across your systems
Where will you see it
On the patient chart itself, labeled "Click for AI Patient Summary" — the label rolls when you hover over it, followed by an arrow. You don't install it; Tabflows presents it beside the chart you already have open.
What happens when you press it
Sidekick opens and runs a fixed visit-prep workflow, then returns one copyable summary card covering:
- Relationship and personal details
- Critical alerts
- Context and history
- Monitoring items
- Medication reconciliation
Copy what's useful into your note.
What won't it do on its own
It reads, and only reads — it never writes to the EMR. Nothing lands in the chart unless you copy it there yourself.
I don't see the button
Usually the context didn't match, and nothing is broken: you're in an EMR other than Cerbo or Elation, or the patient on screen isn't linked in Tabflows yet. This button is not affected by the "Hide smart buttons" setting.
See 👉 Sidekick or a magic button isn't showing up.
