How to ask Sidekick questions on mobile
On this page
Ask your first question
- Open Sidekick on your phone.
- Decide whether the question is about a specific patient.
- If it is, search for and select the correct patient.
- Type your question in the Ask anything field, or use the microphone to dictate it.
- Tap Send.
- Review the response and ask a follow-up if anything is missing.
Questions that do not need a patient
You can ask Sidekick about clinic work without selecting a patient.
Try:
- What is our cancellation policy?
- Find our pricing for common lab tests.
- List my open Tasks.
- Create a reminder for me to follow up tomorrow.
- Turn this note into a concise staff handoff.
Patient-specific questions
Select the patient first, then try:
- Summarize the most important updates in this patient's chart.
- Prepare a concise visit-prep note.
- Show me the available files for this patient.
- Draft a patient-friendly explanation of these results.
- What follow-up items should I review?
Keep prompts simple
Most good prompts need three things:
- Action: summarize, find, compare, draft, or create.
- Context: this patient, our policy, my Tasks, or the attached file.
- Output: five bullets, a short handoff, patient-friendly language, or a dated reminder.
Use follow-up questions
You do not need to repeat the full request. Continue the same conversation with a narrow follow-up:
- Focus only on the last six months.
- Show the source for each item.
- Make this shorter.
- Rewrite this for a patient.
- What is still uncertain?
