Button status, retries, and Tab Actions
On this page
The button that starts the work is the button that tells you how it went.
What are the states?
| State | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Idle | The workflow is ready | Press the button when you want to begin |
| Running | Tabflows is working through the workflow | Let it continue; progress stays on the button |
| Completed | The workflow finished | Review the result or continue the next step |
| Failed | A step stopped | Read what broke and use the single offered retry |
| Auth required (Tab Actions rows) | A required connected system is signed out | Sign in, then try again |
Do the states look the same everywhere?
No. Each magic button shows its own progress words where you pressed it, such as Drafting or Retry. Rows in Tab Actions share one set of colors: blue while running, green when completed, red when failed, amber when you need to sign in.
Do I have to watch it run?
No. The button reports progress in place while it works, so you don't have to go to another screen to find out whether your press did anything.
Where do I see a run after it finishes?
Steps Sidekick takes inside connected systems appear in Tab Actions. For example, after you press Schedule, Sidekick's reads of the Elation calendar and the appointment you approve each appear as a row.
Use Tab Actions to:
- Review an earlier run.
- Find an action that failed after you moved elsewhere.
- Confirm whether a connected-system action completed.
AI Patient Summary returns its result in the chat and adds no Tab Actions row, because it reads only data Tabflows already has.
