What OpenEvidence is

OpenEvidence is a medical-information and clinical-search platform for verified healthcare professionals. It synthesizes licensed journal, guideline, and medical-society content to answer point-of-care clinical questions.

How Tabflows works with OpenEvidence

The actions below describe Tabflows’ verified support with OpenEvidence; they are not a list of everything OpenEvidence can do.

  • Open OpenEvidence in Tabflows — keep the signed-in product one click away in your personal workspace.
  • Link the patient profile with the Tabflows link button — search for the supported patient profile, confirm it, and save the clinic-wide link.

Start a new OpenEvidence visit for a patient

When Tabflows cannot find the selected patient in OpenEvidence, it helps you start a new patient visit instead of leaving you at an empty search.

  1. Select the patient in Tabflows.
  2. Open OpenEvidence.
  3. If the patient is not found, OpenEvidence opens the New Patient form.
  4. Review the patient’s name, date of birth, and sex.
  5. Complete any other required information.
  6. Create the patient.

After the patient is created, OpenEvidence continues to the patient’s new visit.

You stay in control of the record. Always review the pre-filled details before creating the patient.

If the form does not open or the details are not filled, update Tabflows, reload OpenEvidence, and try again. Contact Tabflows Support if the issue continues.

Common stack systems

  • Core record: Athena, Elation, Hint Clinical
  • Documentation: Heidi, Freed, ChartNote
  • Labs: Quest, Labcorp, Rupa Health

If it doesn’t work

If Tabflows opens the wrong patient profile, return to OpenEvidence, confirm the intended person, and replace the saved link from the correct record before retrying.
