Using Elation with Tabflows

What Elation Health is
Elation Health is a clinical-first EHR and billing platform built for independent primary care. Its public product covers charting, clinical review, intake, patient communication, billing, population health, and primary-care operations.
How Tabflows works with Elation
The actions below describe Tabflows’ verified support with Elation; they are not a list of everything Elation can do.
- Open Elation in Tabflows — keep the signed-in product one click away in your personal workspace.
- Link the patient record with the Tabflows link button — search Elation, confirm the patient identity, and save the clinic-wide link before using a patient workflow.
- Use a named Elation workflow with Sidekick — use the named clinical-context, non-visit-note, unfiled-fax, or work-queue workflow.
- Review available coverage and payment context with Sidekick — Depending on what Elation returns, Sidekick may reference policy count and active state, whether front or back insurance-card images are present, whether a payment method is on file, the recorded balance, and available card-expiry months. It does not receive the insurance-card image contents through this coverage summary. Missing information is not proof of no coverage, no card, or a zero balance. Confirm current values in Elation before discussing payment or coverage with a patient.
- Review available insurance-policy details with Sidekick — When Elation returns them, Sidekick may reference each policy’s carrier and plan. The policy’s stored status word is not included in Sidekick’s coverage context. Missing or stale details are not proof that coverage ended; confirm current coverage in Elation before discussing it with a patient.
- Review available appointment context with Sidekick — In the documented Elation calendar workflow, results may include the appointment type and provider names from the practice’s own Elation lists. Confirm the date, patient, provider, and appointment type in Elation before changing the schedule or acting on the result.
- Review every Elation result before completion — review every proposed note, fax filing, queue result, and final outcome before completing the native action.
Using multiple clinics or locations in Elation
If your organization manages multiple clinics or locations as separate Elation practices, use Elation’s Practice Switcher to open the practice for the location you want before starting a Tabflows or Sidekick workflow. Tabflows follows the practice currently open in Elation for patient, calendar, fax, and work-queue actions.
If multiple service locations are managed inside the same Elation practice, you do not need to switch practices. Tabflows does not add access to a practice that your Elation account cannot open.

If it doesn’t work
If Tabflows opens the wrong patient record, return to Elation, confirm the intended person, and replace the saved link from the correct record before retrying.
If the correct Elation record opens but the native workflow still fails, continue troubleshooting in Elation; a saved Tabflows link does not change the system’s own access or workflow rules.
