Pick one automation from the catalog, hand it to Sidekick, and check what it returns.

An automation is a job you describe to Sidekick instead of working through it by hand. The Automation catalog collects ready-made ones by clinic job, each with the prompt to give Sidekick and the systems it works with.

With Clinic Workflows on your account, select **Workflows** in Sidekick or a chat and choose a saved workflow. It runs at once, asks in the chat if it needs anything, and is done when Sidekick posts the result and completes its Task; a failed run leaves the Task open. **Marketplace** lists the actions Tabflows can suggest across your systems.

## Topics

### Run a Clinic Workflow

A Clinic Workflow is a saved set of steps Sidekick runs for repeat work, and each run creates a Task assigned to you for today. Workflows aren't available on every account.

1. In Sidekick or a chat, select **Workflows** and choose a saved workflow.
2. Enter any information it asks for, and start it.
3. Follow the live card and the Task. The work is finished when the result comes back or the Task shows **Done**.

Tip: Closing Sidekick doesn't cancel a run. Come back to the conversation or the Task to check on it.

### Give a Task to Sidekick

Choose **Tabflows** in **Assigned to** when you want Sidekick to handle a Task. Assigning it doesn't mean it's finished, so review the result.

1. Open a Task, open **Assigned to**, and select **Tabflows**.
2. Check the description, patient and due date, and save.
3. Follow the Task status and review what Sidekick returns before you close it.

### Create a workflow for your clinic

Describe the outcome you want and Sidekick builds the steps with you; saving shares the workflow with your clinic. Creating workflows is turned on per person, so if **Create a workflow** is missing, ask an Admin whether authoring is available for your account.

1. In **Sidekick**, choose **Create a workflow** (or **New workflow** if your clinic already has some).
2. Describe the outcome and answer Sidekick's questions one at a time.
3. Review the name, systems, instructions and each step, then choose **Save and Run** to test it.

Tip: Test with non-patient cases first. For ideas, browse the workflow catalog at tabflows.com/workflows.

## Do it in Tabflows

Run one automation on real work.

1. Open the [Automation catalog](https://www.tabflows.com/university#automations) and choose one whose systems match yours, such as **Refill triage board** or **Lab review queue**.
2. Copy its prompt.
3. Open Sidekick, paste the prompt, change anything that differs at your clinic, and send it. Sidekick works through it once.
4. Review what Sidekick returns before anyone acts on it.
5. To repeat it, send it from **My chat**, if your account schedules messages: select the caret beside **Send**, then **Every weekday** and **Schedule**.
