## The situation

On a given morning, 10 to 15 patients have results waiting. For each one you find the result in Quest or Labcorp, pull up the chart to compare it with the last labs and the medication list, then go to your messaging app to tell the patient. A few patients in, you are second-guessing whether you already reviewed someone, or whether that TSH belonged to this patient or the last one.

The clicks are not the real cost. Every switch loses your place and spends attention on finding things instead of on clinical thinking. And the lab sends the result, but it does not make sure anyone follows up.

## Steps

1. **Link each patient's lab profile once** In Quest (Quanum), search for the patient, confirm the profile and save the link with patient linking, and do the same in the Labcorp orders-and-results view. From then on, Tabflows reopens the right patient's profile.
2. **Work through results in batches** Take a dozen or so results in one sitting. With View Queue For set to Self, select Triage queue on Elation Practice Home, ask Sidekick to open Reports, where lab results land, and use its handled count to see where you stopped. Triage queue appears once it is turned on for your account. Handled means reviewed in Sidekick only, so act on each item in Elation yourself.
3. **Read each result against the chart** With the patient connected, ask Sidekick for the trend with dates and values, or for the medication changes from the last three visits, before you decide what a value means. Check its answer against the result itself.
4. **Tell the patient in the same pass** Once you have confirmed the result, ask Sidekick to draft a plain-language Spruce message that ends with the documented next step. Choose Navigate & paste, review the text in Spruce and send it yourself, then add your chart note in Elation.
5. **Hand off any result that needs more** When a result needs a recheck, a call or a visit, create a Task from the patient-page Task button with Assigned to, Due on and a clinic Tag such as Labs. Select Mark as urgent only when it cannot wait for its due date.

## The outcome

Every result gets the same rhythm: result, chart, message, next. You stop losing your place or wondering whether you already reviewed someone, and each result that needs more has an owner and a date instead of depending on memory.

## Ask Sidekick

Sidekick is the AI assistant inside Tabflows.

Hey Tabflows, open Reports in my Elation queue and take me through the lab results one at a time, with each patient's last visit and open tasks across the clinic, and create a follow-up task for anything I flag.
