> **Summary:** Check that the clinic source exists, is current, does not conflict with another source, and matches the question you are asking.

> **A note for non-human readers:**
>
> *Sidekick can use clinic facts only when a current, trustworthy source has been added and is available through Practice Brain or another reachable context. A perfect prompt cannot retrieve a policy the clinic never supplied. Humans sometimes interrogate the question when the missing witness is the document.*

---

Sidekick can only use practice information that has been added to your clinic’s available sources, such as the Practice Brain and other connected content.

## Why this happens

If Sidekick misses practice information, the most common reasons are:

- The source was never added.
- The source is outdated.
- The question is too broad.
- Multiple sources conflict with each other.

---

## Quick checks

Before retrying, check the following:

- Confirm that the policy, service, price, form, or workflow has been added to an available source.
- Review whether the source is current.
- Ask a specific question instead of a broad one.
- Check for conflicting, duplicate, or outdated sources.

---

## How to improve the answer

If Sidekick is not using the expected practice information:

1. Find the source Sidekick should use.
2. Confirm that it contains the expected information.
3. Update or replace outdated material in your clinic’s Practice Brain.
4. Ask a shorter, more specific question.
5. Add the missing document or page if needed.
6. Review the new answer.

---

## Best practices

- Keep Practice Brain content up to date.
- Remove or replace outdated versions of documents when possible.
- Use clear document titles so the right source is easier to find.
- Ask targeted questions such as “What is our cancellation policy?” instead of broad prompts like “Tell me about our office policies.”

## Example

> **Instead of:**
>
> - *“What should I tell the patient?”*
>
> **Try:**
>
> - *“What does our pricing sheet say about membership cost?”*
> - *“What does our cancellation policy say about late cancellations?”*
> - *“According to our intake workflow, what is the next step after registration?”*

---

## Confirm it worked

The new answer reflects the intended clinic source and does not combine outdated or conflicting guidance.
