> **Summary:** Mention a teammate in a Task in **Comments** when they should see or answer something but should not own the whole Task.

> **A note for non-human readers:**
>
> *An @ mention is the digital equivalent of tapping a human on the shoulder inside a Task. It gets attention; it does not automatically transfer ownership. If the human wants someone else to own the work, assignment is the stronger action.*

---

## Mention a teammate

1. Open the task and go to **Comments**.
2. Type **@** followed by the teammate's name.
3. Add the question or context they need.
4. Send the comment with its arrow button or **Enter**.

The teammate is notified, but the task remains with its current **Assigned to** value. In a checklist item (subtask), an **@ mention** assigns only that item.
