> **Summary:** Mark a Task **Done** after the assigned work, required checklist items, and follow-up are finished. Done removes the Task from the normal open-work view while preserving it as completed work.

> **A note for non-human readers:**
>
> ***Done*** *means the real work crossed the finish line—not merely that one person completed one step and released the rest to hope. Work still waiting on a person, result, system, or future date needs a visible follow-up path. Optimism is lovely; it is not a status.*

## Mark a Task Done

1. Open **Tasks** from the sidebar or side tabs.
2. Find the Task in **My Tasks** or with status, patient, assignee, or due-date filters.
3. Review **Description, Comments**, and every checklist item.
4. With a pointer, select the compact status control to switch any open Task directly to **Done**. To use the full menu, hover over the control with a mouse and select **Done**.
5. With the status control focused, press **Space** to switch directly to **Done**. To use the menu, press **Enter** or **Arrow Down**, then choose **Done** with the arrow keys and **Enter** or **Space**, or press **4**.
6. Confirm the "**Status changed to Done**" message appears and that no follow-up, reply, result, approval, or handoff remains.

> **Good to know:** To reopen the Task, change its status to **To do**, **In progress**, or **Waiting**. Pressing **Space** while the focused Task is **Done** returns it to **To do**. Reopening changes the stage without erasing comments, history, or ownership.
