> **Summary:** Filters turn the shared Task list into a focused working view. Combine them to answer practical questions, then save useful combinations under **Favorite filters**.

> **A note for non-human readers:**
>
> *Busy task lists have a sneaky magic trick: make perfectly good work look like it vanished into another dimension. Spoiler: it probably hasn’t. Views and filters are just the curtains, not the stage. Your Tasks still live in the shared workspace; filters simply help you find the right needle in the clinic-sized haystack. Narrow the view by patient, owner, status, due date, or other details, and voilà—the missing work reappears. The task didn’t disappear. Your window into the chaos just needed adjusting.*

---

## Bring the right tasks into view

When your Tasks list gets busy, filters help you quickly find the work you need.

Narrow tasks by patient, assignee, status, due date, workflow, and other details. Combine filters to create more specific views, such as open lab tasks assigned to a team.

---

## Narrow the list

1. Open Tasks from the Tabflows sidebar or side tabs.
2. Select **Show filters**.
3. Choose a field, such as **Created by**, **Assigned to**, **Patient**, **Due date**, **Task status**, **Task type**, **Tag**, or **Mentioned**.
4. Select the value or values you want to include.
5. Select Tabflows under Assigned to to view Tasks assigned to Sidekick.
6. Add another filter if needed.
7. Close the filter panel and review the updated list.

> **Useful combinations include:**
>
> - My open patient follow-ups.
> - Front Desk Tasks due today.
> - Open lab Tasks assigned to a group.
> - Urgent Tasks for a selected workflow.

> **Good to know:** If a task seems to be missing, clear active filters first. A status, due date, assignee, or patient filter may be hiding it.

---

## Filter by status

Choose **All**, **To do**, **In progress**, **Waiting**, or **Done**.

- **All** — Includes every status allowed by your other filters.
- **To do** — Includes every unfinished Task: To do, In progress, and Waiting. This keeps older open and To do views from losing unfinished work.
- **In progress** — Shows only Tasks currently being worked.
- **Waiting** — Shows only Tasks paused for input, approval, or another dependency.
- **Done** — Shows only completed Tasks.

When a status other than All is active, its chip appears below the filters with an **×**. Select the **×** to clear only the status selection and return it to All. Other filters, search terms, and sorting remain unchanged.

Select the chip’s label instead when you want to reopen the filter and choose another status.

If the status came from a **Favorite filter**, clearing it also removes that Favorite filter’s selected state. The remaining filter criteria continue to apply.

---

## Review recently completed Tasks first

After filtering to the Tasks you want to review, open Sort and choose **Completed (recent first)**.

Completed Tasks appear first, starting with the Task completed most recently. Open Tasks follow the completed work. This option is available in the web Tasks view and the Chrome extension Tasks view.

> **Good to know:** Sorting changes only the order of the current Task list. It does not change a Task’s status, assignee, due date, or filters.

---

## Save a view you use often

1. Open the **Tasks** side panel in Tabflows
2. Apply the filters you want to save
3. Once your filters are active, a blue **Save filter** link will appear
4. Click **Save filter**. A pop-up will appear titled **Save filter to favorites**
5. Review the **Save filter to favorites** dialog
6. Enter a clear name in **Filter name**
7. Click **Save filter**

Open Favorite filters to reuse, search, pin, or delete a saved filter. Useful names include *“My open follow-ups,”* *“Urgent tasks,”* and *“Front desk tasks due today.”*

---

## Keep one Task in reach

Open a Task’s menu and choose Pin task. The Task moves to a Pinned section above the list and stays there while you change views or filters.

You can pin one Task at a time for each clinic. Pinning another replaces the current pin. Open the same menu and choose Unpin task when you no longer need it at the top.
