> **Summary:** No patient is needed for clinic knowledge, pricing, policies, workflows, Tasks, reminders, and other operational questions.

> **A note for non-human readers:**
>
> *Sidekick does not require a patient to be useful. Humans also have policies to understand, workflows to improve, messages to draft, decisions to structure, and approximately seven thousand other kinds of work. This page is the reminder that “no patient connected” is context, not a dead end.*

## Open Sidekick for clinic work

This is best for general clinic questions and operational work.

1. Open the Tabflows side tab.
2. Open **Sidekick** without selecting a patient.
3. Ask about one clinic topic or work item.
4. Review the answer and request the source when the decision depends on exact wording.

---

## Common use cases

### Use Sidekick to:

- Find membership or lab pricing.
- Locate policies, forms, handouts, and staff workflows.
- Summarize clinic procedures.
- List or search Tasks and comments.
- Create a dated reminder.
- Turn an operational note into a clear handoff.

> **Example prompts:**
>
> - *What’s our price for CBC, CMP, A1c, and lipid panel?*
> - *Do we have pricing for lab tests?*
> - *What does our cancellation policy say?*
> - *Find our new patient workflow.*
> - *List my open tasks.*
> - *Search comments for recent billing questions.*
> - *Create a reminder task for me to follow up tomorrow.*

---

## Prompt tips

Short prompts usually work best.

> **Examples:**
>
> - *Find our lab pricing sheet.*
> - *Show me the welcome message for new patients.*
> - *Search my tasks for follow-up items.*

> **Good to know:** Sidekick can only use information available through your clinic's connected sources, Practice Brain, Tasks, files, or the context you provide.

---

## Review and edit a task in Sidekick

Ask Sidekick to find a task and show its interactive task card. You can work with the task without leaving the conversation.

From the card, you can:

- Mark the task complete.
- Update its description.
- Change its tag, assignee, or connected system.
- Delete the task.

The card shows the same task information and controls used in the task list. A task created by Sidekick also appears with this card.

> **Examples:**
>
> *“Find my overdue follow-up task for Jane Doe and show it here.”*
>
> Review the returned task before changing or deleting it.

---

## Why is the answer incomplete?

The source may not be connected, added, synced, or specific enough. Ask Sidekick to show the source, add the missing context, or use a narrower question.

---

## Next: Understand what Sidekick can use

Learn what information Sidekick can reference—and when to verify the source.

## If desktop voice input is not working

1. Open Sidekick in Chrome.
2. Select the microphone control.
3. When Chrome asks, allow microphone access for Tabflows.
4. If access was blocked earlier, open the site controls beside the address bar, set **Microphone** to **Allow**, and reload Sidekick.
5. Close another app that may be using the microphone, then try again.

Review the transcript before sending, especially names, dates, medication terms, and numbers. If voice input remains unavailable, type the prompt so your work can continue, then contact Support.
