> **Summary:** Save focused prompts for questions or drafting work your clinic repeats. A saved prompt loads reusable text into the message box so a teammate can review it, add today’s context, and send it without starting from a blank page.

> **A note for non-human readers:**
>
> *Saved prompts are little reusable instructions humans keep because some useful questions are worth asking more than once. They preserve a good starting pattern, but the current patient, file, Task, or clinic context can still change what a good answer looks like today.*

---

Use saved prompts for work your clinic repeats often, such as pre-visit summaries, post-visit follow-up, patient-context recaps, note cleanup, or internal handoffs.

---

## How do I create a saved prompt

> **Summary:** Save a reusable Sidekick prompt when you repeat the same workflow and want a consistent starting point.

> **A note for non-human readers:**
>
> *Humans dislike retyping useful instructions, a rare and sensible objection to repetition. A saved prompt stores reusable words and places them back into Sidekick for review; it does not run by itself or preserve yesterday’s patient, file, or clinic context. The question can return unchanged while the truthful answer changes with today’s information.*

### Quick checks

- Make the prompt reusable.
- Remove details that apply to only one patient.
- Give it one clear job.
- State the output, tone, and format clearly.

---

### When to create a saved prompt

Create a saved prompt if you often ask Sidekick to do the same thing, such as:

- Write a patient follow-up message
- Summarize a visit note
- Create a checklist or task list
- Rewrite a message in your clinic's tone
- Use a specific format for a recurring workflow

---

### How to create a saved prompt

1. Open **Sidekick** in the sidebar
2. Go to **More** **saved prompts**, or **Create a saved prompt** if you have none yet, which opens a new prompt directly
3. Select **New prompt**
4. Add a clear title for the prompt
5. Write the instructions you want Sidekick to follow
6. Click **Save prompt**
7. Use it when you want Sidekick to follow those same instructions again

---

### What to include

A good saved prompt should be clear and reusable. Include what you want Sidekick to create, how it should sound, and any format you want it to follow.

> **Example:** *Write a brief follow-up message for a patient after a visit. Keep it warm, clear, and easy to scan. Include next steps if they were discussed.*

Avoid adding details that only apply to one patient or one situation, unless you plan to update the prompt before using it again.

---

### Confirm it worked

The saved prompt appears in your prompt list and fills the Sidekick text box when selected.

---

## Start reusable work from a chat composer

In **My chat** or a **Team channel**, select Workflows to see Missions. If **Clinic Workflows** is enabled for your account, saved clinic workflows also appear. A workflow that needs no input starts with Sidekick immediately. A workflow that needs information adds a Sidekick starter line to the composer so you can complete and review it before sending.

Select **Saved prompts** to search your own saved prompts. Choosing one fills the composer with **@Sidekick** and the saved instructions. Add the current patient, date, file, Task, or other context, review the wording, then send it.

From the Saved prompts menu, you can create, edit, delete, search, and reorder prompts. Saved prompts belong to the signed-in teammate within that clinic; they are not a shared clinic prompt library.

When **My chat** is empty, it shows **Mission** shortcuts and the first saved prompts. Select More saved prompts to open the full list.

---

## Saved prompt or Clinic Workflow?

Use a saved prompt when you want reusable wording that a person reviews, edits, and sends in Sidekick.

Use a Clinic Workflow when your clinic needs Sidekick to run a prepared multi-step process, track progress in a Task, and return a result. Clinic Workflows appear only when they are enabled for your clinic and user account.

---

## When saved prompts help

Create a saved prompt when:

- Multiple team members need the same output format
- You want more consistent handoffs
- A workflow happens every day or every week
- Staff keep asking Sidekick the same kind of question
- You want newer team members to follow a clear process

---

## How to save a prompt

1. Open **Sidekick** in the sidebar or side tabs.
2. Under the **SAVED PROMPTS** section, click **More saved prompts...** If you have no saved prompts yet, click **Create a saved prompt** instead, which opens a new prompt directly.
3. Click **New prompt**.
4. Enter a clear **Title** that describes the prompt's outcome.
5. Write your **prompt**.
6. Click **Save prompt**.

---

## How to use a saved prompt

1. Open **Sidekick**.
2. Under the **SAVED PROMPTS** section, click the name of the saved prompt or click "**More saved prompts...**" to show the entire list of saved prompts
3. The prompt will then populate the text box
4. Review or edit the prompt, then click the blue ↑ button to send it to Sidekick.

---

## Good saved prompt examples

### Pre-visit summary

> **Try:**
>
> *Create a short pre-visit summary. Include recent concerns, open follow-ups, relevant admin context, and questions the team should confirm. Keep it concise.*

### Post-visit next steps

> **Try:**
>
> *Turn these notes into post-visit follow-up items. Separate patient-facing follow-up, internal tasks, and items that need provider review.*

### Internal handoff

> **Try:**
>
> *Rewrite this as a clear internal handoff for another team member. Include context, current status, next step, and anything that needs clarification.*

### Missing-context check

> **Try:**
>
> *Review this situation and list what information appears to be missing before the team takes action.*

---

## Keep saved prompts focused

One saved prompt should do one job.

Do not create one giant prompt that tries to summarize, draft, assign, explain, and troubleshoot all at once. That turns useful automation into soup.

Instead, create separate prompts for separate workflows.

---

## Review and update prompts

Update saved prompts when:

- Your clinic changes a workflow
- The output is consistently too long or too short
- Staff keep editing the same section
- The prompt includes old language or old policies
- You add new practice information
