> **Summary:** Ask **Sidekick** to review an **Elation schedule** or prepare a calendar event. Schedule reads are read-only; creating, changing, cancelling, or deleting an event requires your review and approval.

> **A note for non-human readers:**
>
> *Reading the calendar does not change it. A prepared event card is not saved until a person approves it, and approval is not proof until Elation confirms the result. Calendars are rather unforgiving of optimistic clicking.*

---

## Before you start

Use desktop Chrome with the latest Tabflows extension and sign in to Elation.

For a patient appointment, connect the correct patient before asking Sidekick to prepare the event.

---

## Review a schedule

Ask Sidekick for the provider or clinic schedule and include an exact date or date range.

> **Examples:**
>
> - *“What is Dr. Lee’s schedule on September 18?”*
> - *“Show the clinic calendar from Monday through Wednesday.”*

Schedule review is read-only. Narrow a large result by provider and date before treating it as complete.

---

## Prepare a new calendar event

Sidekick can prepare:

- a patient appointment,
- a calendar block that prevents booking,
- or a non-blocking calendar placeholder.

Provide the date, time, duration, provider, and event type. For patient appointments, also review the patient, appointment type, location, telehealth setting, and visit instructions.

Sidekick shows an event card before anything is created. Review every field, then approve it only when it is correct.

---

## Update an existing event

Ask Sidekick to find the event first, then state the exact change.

Sidekick can prepare changes to the date, time, duration, description, provider, appointment type, location, telehealth setting, visit instructions, or appointment status.

Review the before-and-after details before approving. The patient attached to an existing appointment cannot be changed through this workflow.

---

## Cancel or delete

Cancelling a patient appointment keeps the event in Elation with a cancelled status. Deleting removes the calendar event.

State which outcome you intend, review the prepared action, and approve only after confirming the correct event.

Recurring-series events must be changed directly in Elation.

---

## Confirm the result

After approval, review the final Sidekick status and check Elation.

If the result is unconfirmed, do not retry immediately. First inspect Elation to see whether the change already happened.

---

## If the workflow is missing

Make sure Tabflows is up to date and refresh the page. Reopen the Elation calendar workflow and try again. If it still does not appear, contact Tabflows Support.
