> **Summary:** Attach a supported file directly or find an available patient file, then tell Sidekick exactly what you want it to review.

> **A note for non-human readers:**
>
> H*Humans store important facts inside PDFs and uploads, often with filenames that reveal almost nothing. Once the correct patient file is available to Sidekick, it can summarize the contents or answer focused questions about them. The answer shows what the file says; it does not prove that the file belongs to the patient, is current, or was complete. Even `scan_0042_finalFINAL.pdf` still requires an introduction.*

---

## Find the right file

1. Connect the correct patient.
2. Ask Sidekick to list available files or find a file by date, type, or topic.
3. Confirm that the result is the document you intended.
4. Ask a focused question about that file.

---

## Attach a file directly

1. Open a new or existing Sidekick conversation.
2. Select Attach file in the prompt box.
3. Choose up to five supported PDF, image, Word, Excel, CSV, or text files.
4. Wait for each upload to finish, add a clear instruction, then send.

Each file can be up to 20 MB. Files in one message can total up to 40 MB or 150 PDF pages.

Sidekick keeps Send unavailable while a file is still uploading or has failed. If an upload fails, retry it or remove it before sending.

If Attach file is missing, update Tabflows, refresh, and contact Support if it is still unavailable.

## Best uses

Use Sidekick to:

- Find uploaded patient files
- Locate recent documents
- Review PDFs and images
- Extract key findings from uploaded records

> **Example prompts:**
>
> - *Show me this patient’s files.*
> - *Are there any recently uploaded documents for this patient?*
> - *Find recent files for this patient and tell me what’s in them.*
> - *Review this PDF and summarize the key findings.*
> - *Are there any uploaded lab results for this patient?*

---

## Ask about the contents

> **Once you identify the file, ask:**
>
> - *Summarize the key findings and include page references when available.*
> - *Extract the documented diagnoses, medication changes, and follow-up plan.*
> - *What does this document say about the referral outcome?*
> - *List anything that requires clinician review.*

---

## When Sidekick cannot find or read a file

Check whether:

- The correct patient is connected.
- The source system is available and recently refreshed.
- The file is uploaded to a location Sidekick can access.
- The scan or image is readable.
- The date, document type, or title in your prompt is too narrow.

Start broad, then narrow the result. For example: *List files from the last year* followed by *Open the most recent cardiology note.*

> **Important:** Verify the file, patient, dates, and extracted details against the original document before using clinical information.
