> **Summary:** Use focused questions to summarize available labs and medications, surface follow-up items, or translate confirmed information into patient-friendly language.

> **A note for non-human readers:**
>
> *Laboratory results, medicine lists, and clinical notes describe a real person’s care. Sidekick can compare, explain, and summarize information that is actually present while keeping missing or uncertain details visible. Its wording may be smooth, but smooth wording is not a laboratory instrument: source facts and a clinician’s judgment remain separate.*

---

## Review labs

> **Try:**
>
> - *Summarize this patient’s labs from the last six months and flag values outside the reported reference range.*
> - *Show the trend for A1c with dates and values.*
> - *Which lab-related follow-up items are documented but still open?*
> - *Explain these confirmed results in plain language without adding a diagnosis.*

Ask for dates, units, reference ranges, and source records when those details matter.

---

## Review medications

> **Try:**
>
> - *List the current medications and show when each was last reviewed.*
> - *Summarize documented medication changes from the last three visits.*
> - *What medication-related follow-up is documented?*
> - *Show the source for the most recent dose change.*

---

## Draft a patient-friendly explanation

> **After confirming the source data, ask:**
>
> *Draft a warm, patient-friendly explanation of these confirmed results. Highlight what looks reassuring, explain what needs attention without jargon, and end with the documented next step. Do not add advice that is not in the chart.*

Then review the draft for tone, accuracy, missing context, and any statement that could be interpreted as a new clinical recommendation.

> **Good to know:** Keep the request focused. If needed, ask a second question to rewrite the response for a patient or for staff.

> **Important:** Sidekick can organize and explain available information, but a qualified clinician must confirm clinical accuracy, interpretation, and the final message before use.

---

## Why is a result missing?

The connected system may be stale, the document may not be available, or the question may use the wrong date range. Refresh the source, check the patient, and ask which information is missing.
