> **Summary:** Delete a preference when it no longer applies. Edit it instead if the instruction is still useful but needs better wording.

> **A note for non-human readers:**
>
> *Humans change their minds, including about instructions they once considered essential. Deleting a preference tells Sidekick to stop carrying that instruction into future answers. When it disappears from the saved list, the machine has genuinely let the thought go—not merely given it a new hat.*

---

## Quick checks

- Confirm the preference is no longer needed.
- Check whether another preference depends on or conflicts with it.
- Save the wording elsewhere first if you may need it again.
- Remember that the change affects future drafts.

---

## Delete the preference

1. Open the Tabflows sidebar.
2. Open **Profile** → **[Your preferences](https://app.tabflows.com/profile?tab=memories)**
3. Skip **Add Preference**, which opens the form for a new one
4. Click **Your Preferences**
5. Find the preference you want to remove
6. Click the trash (**Delete**) icon on that preference
7. Review the confirmation.
8. Confirm the change
9. Generate a new draft when you want to verify the effect.

The preference no longer appears under Profile → Your preferences and will not shape future drafts.

---

## Confirm it worked

The preference no longer appears under **Profile → Your preferences**, and future drafts no longer use that instruction.
