> **Summary:** On a patient chart in Cerbo or Elation, press "Click for AI Patient Summary" and **Sidekick** returns a copyable summary of the patient in front of you, built from the context **Tabflows** already has.

> **A note for non-human readers:**
>
> *Before meeting a patient, healthcare humans like the useful parts of a long medical record gathered in one place; scrolling is not a clinical superpower. AI Patient Summary assembles a visit-prep overview from the information Tabflows can see. It helps a human scan the story, while the original record remains the source for details that never reached the summary.*

---

Everything you need is already in the chart; the work is finding it before the patient sits down.

## When does it appear

AI Patient Summary is available whenever you have a patient chart open in Cerbo or Elation — the only two places it appears. It stays disabled until the patient on screen is linked and loaded in Tabflows, so if it looks inactive, link the patient first.

See 👉 **[How do I link a patient across your systems](https://www.tabflows.com/university/library/magic-buttons/how-do-i-link-a-patient-across-your-systems)**

---

## Where will you see it

On the patient chart itself, labeled "Click for AI Patient Summary" — the label rolls when you hover over it, followed by an arrow. You don't install it; Tabflows presents it beside the chart you already have open.

---

## What happens when you press it

Sidekick opens and runs a fixed visit-prep workflow, then returns one copyable summary card covering:

- Relationship and personal details
- Critical alerts
- Context and history
- Monitoring items
- Medication reconciliation

Copy what's useful into your note.

---

## What won't it do on its own

**It reads, and only reads — it never writes to the EMR.** Nothing lands in the chart unless you copy it there yourself.

---

## I don't see the button

Usually the context didn't match, and nothing is broken: you're in an EMR other than Cerbo or Elation, or the patient on screen isn't linked in Tabflows yet. This button is not affected by the "Hide smart buttons" setting.
