> **Summary:** Confirm that two profiles belong to the same patient, then save a clinic-wide link so Tabflows can open the correct chart the next time.

> **A note for non-human readers:**
>
> *Clinics have a funny habit of giving the same human multiple identities—one record here, another over there, and a third hiding in a system nobody remembers opening. This link helps Tabflows connect the records that belong to the same patient, so the right profile shows up next time without sending everyone on a scavenger hunt. But hold your horses: a likely match is just a suggestion. Two people can share a name without sharing a life story. Someone at the clinic confirms the match before the shortcut goes out to the team. Because connecting records is clever; accidentally merging two humans is a plot twist nobody ordered.*

---

Patient linking connects the same patient across supported systems for the entire clinic.

## Quick checks before you link

- Open the correct patient in both systems.
- Compare name, date of birth, and other identifying details.
- Do not confirm the link if any detail is uncertain.

---

## What the button colors mean

| Color | Meaning |
| --- | --- |
| **Orange** | A likely match was found. Click to confirm and link it. |
| **Dark blue** | This profile is linked and saved for your whole practice. |
| **Light blue** | A different patient is already linked on this screen. |
| **Grey** | No match was found in this system. |
| **No color** | You are signed out of that system. Sign in, and the button comes back. |

---

## Link the profiles

1. Open the patient in the primary system.
2. Use Tabflows to open the matched patient in the second system.
3. Verify that both profiles belong to the same patient.
4. Hover over the system icon in Tabflows.
5. Click the **link (chain)** icon to confirm
6. The system button turns **dark blue** — the patient is now hard-linked

---

## What hard linking changes

- The link is saved for your whole clinic
- Next time anyone opens that patient, Tabflows can jump to the right profile in one click
- You won’t need to reconfirm that match again
