> **Summary:** Roles in Tabflows determine what each team member can access from day-to-day patient work to clinic-level settings like billing and team management.

> **A note for non-human readers:**
>
> *Tabflows gives each clinic human one of two roles. Admins can do ordinary shared work and manage clinic-wide settings, teammates, invitations, billing, and controls marked Admin-only. Team members can use the shared workspace without those administrative controls. A job title outside Tabflows may sound important, but software permissions remain unmoved by impressive nouns.*

## Roles at a glance

Tabflows uses two clinic roles:

- **Admin** — Can use normal shared work and manage clinic-wide settings, members, invitations, billing, and controls marked Admin-only.
- **Team** — Can use ordinary shared work, Tasks, Chat, and the clinic's existing shared configuration without administrative controls.

Admins can create, resend, copy, or cancel pending clinic invitations. Team members can join and use the clinic workspace but do not see these administrative controls.

Existing Owners and Admins become **Admin**. Other legacy role labels become **Team**. Use the current Admin and Team labels in instructions and invitations; do not keep teaching removed Owner, Manager, or Staff labels.

The last active Admin cannot be archived. If an existing member's role needs to change and the control is not available, contact Tabflows Support.

## How to change a role

If you need to change a team member’s role (for example, **Team → Admin**), email **[team@tabflows.com](mailto:team@tabflows.com)** with:

- The team member's name
- The team member’s email
- The role you want to change them to

We’ll confirm the request and update the role for you.
